The Stillwater Area Foundation (SAF), an affiliate of the St. Croix Valley Foundation, is proud to announce a Request for Proposals for its fall grants. Formed in 2010, the foundation’s purpose is to build and hold a permanent and growing endowment for the community’s changing needs and opportunities.
The goal of the foundation is to provide an endowed fund for our community. While fundraising is still in its early stages, the foundation does have funds available for immediate grants. The foundation will make grants up to $3,000 available to organizations with a charitable purpose that generate proposals to enhance the quality of life for Stillwater Area residents.
The general nature of the mission of the SAF is to improve the quality of life in the geographic area served by the foundation. The foundation’s service area generally coincides with the geographic boundaries of School District 834, north of Interstate 94.
Examples of projects might include recreation, historic preservation, visual or performing arts, community health, education, safety, the environment or encouraging charitable giving. No general operating funds will be considered.
To obtain an application form go to the Stillwater Area Foundation website, www.stillwaterareafoundation.org, or call Margi Miller, 715-386-9490. Proposals should be submitted to the Stillwater Area Foundation at 1809 Northwestern Avenue, Stillwater, MN 55082.
Applications must be postmarked by November 15, 2013. Grant recipients will be notified by December 1, 2013.
