About Grants

Stillwater Area Foundation is an affiliate of the St. Croix Valley Foundation.  Formed in 2010, the foundation’s purpose is to build and hold a permanent and growing endowment for the community’s changing needs and opportunities.

The goal of the foundation is to provide an endowed fund for the community.  While fundraising continues, the foundation does have funds available for immediate grants. The foundation will make grants up to $6,000 available to organizations with a charitable purpose that generate proposals to enhance the quality of life for the greatest number of Stillwater Area residents.

Because of the general nature of the mission of the foundation, the area of focus would be to improve the quality of life in the geographic area served by the foundation.  The foundation’s service area generally coincides with the geographic boundaries of School District 834, north of Interstate 94.

Examples of projects might include recreation, historic preservation, visual or performing arts, community health, education, safety, the environment, or encouraging charitable giving.  No general operating funds will be considered.
